FAQs

The Breakfast Club was formed to provide a better model for networking combined with helping business people to develop better relationships and become successful in growing their businesses.  The organization’s focus is to get people connected and to create better connections.

The Breakfast Club is a group of committed networkers, each an expert in our own field. Our focus is to give leads and intros to our fellow members, get to know each other as individuals, and understand each other’s unique businesses and changing needs.

Basic Info

Each group meets twice a month (not every other week).  That means occasionally there will be a 3rd week in-between.  Make sure to enter into your calendar correctly,

There is one of every industry.  As a standing member you have the 1st right of refusal if a prospective member who wants to join is in too much conflict with your services.  I encourage people to talk to each other to see if something can be worked out.

Attendance Policy

Commitment to the group is KEY to its success.  With only 24 meetings per year, each member is required to attend every meeting.

With that said, we understand that if you are sick, have vacation, or have a court date for instance, that you would not attend.  You would not be kicked out. However, if you can’t make a reasonable commitment to coming to every meeting, then don’t make it.  It is better for you to step out and allow someone who can make the commitment to take that spot.

It IS REQUIRED that you contact your facilitator BEFORE the meeting that you will not be attending and you must also share the REASON why.  “I can’t make it” is not sufficient.  Your reason will be shared with the group.  Members can formulate their own opinion as to its validity.  If it is personal, it is fine to say that, just realize that I have to communicate something to the group, but would respect your privacy.

You are not required to send a substitute in your absence, however, you are welcome to.

Tracking Leads and Referrals
Everyone does their own tracking on tracking sheets so you can monitor your success. This is private so there is no pressure. These sheets are kept in your own folder and are kept by the facilitator.  You can also use our Everlist System and track it online.

How are dues collected and what does it cost to join?

  1. There is a one-time $100 fee plus dues of $90/quarter
  2. Dues can be paid quarterly or yearly. They are due in advance of attending.
  3. Guests can come up to 2 times at no charge.
  4. Dues include ALL costs such as the cost of the venue, food, etc. (There are no hidden costs)

Dues are due BEFORE THE QUARTER.  Your quarterly dues are not refundable for that quarter if you decided to leave the group before the end of the quarter.

You can also set up your credit card to be charged each quarter in the Everlist System.  We will however, email you in advance that it will be coming.  (See separate info for Everlist set up and usage.)

Starting your own group

If you are interested in starting your own group in a new location and facilitating the group, please contact Melissa@breakfastclubgroups.com and she will provide you with information on how to make this happen!

Visiting other groups

You are welcome to visit other groups if you wish. This works best for unique industries.  You cannot visit any group more than twice that you have not joined.

Snow Policy

If the school where the Breakfast Club meeting takes place is delayed or closed, then the meeting is typically but not always cancelled.  Additional communication will go out via email and Meetup.  Email or text your facilitator if you are unsure.
